Get ready, Get set, Read!

2017 Reading Challenge Topics (Click here)

Since starting graduate school I haven’t really had time to read anything outside of assigned texts. Along with two other grad students, we created the 2017 Reading Challenge as an excuse to spend our summer reading.

Adding anything we could think of, our topic list grew to 70. I planned on finishing before the new semester starts in August, but… that might be a bit difficult. My own personal goal is to read at least one book a week and to dwindle down my TBR list. If I’m going to have six bookshelves in my tiny apartment, I need to start using them for something other than decorations.

Just like every other reader, I’ve been collecting books that catch my eye (I’m not allowed in Barnes and Nobel unsupervised) with the intention of reading them but never actually getting around to it. I’m going to get through as many of them as I can manage.

I’m a little intimidated, but I got myself a reader’s journal to keep track of everything. Let’s see what happens.

Wish me luck!

  1. Sounds like you have a lot of fun reading ahead of you 🙂 I have a couple review copies left to take care of this month and then I’m not accepting review copies / signing up for tours for awhile. Time to tackle those shelves that keep mocking me (and the 3000+ on my Kindle). Good luck with your reading!
